Awkwafina is an American singer and performer who began her career with clever hip-hop raps that addressed racial and sexual identities from a boldly comic perspective. After that, she branched out her reach to Hollywood. Nora Lum was born to Chinese-Korean immigrants from Forest Hills Queens. Her first exposure to music was from the trumpet. Also, she received the classical and jazz education later delving into hip-hop as a teenager. As a student, she studied journalism as well as women's studies in college even studying Mandarin in Beijing during a brief time. Then, after graduation, when she decided to turn her attention on music. Her song My Vag, a response track to the Mickey Avalon's My Dick gained viral popularity on the Internet in the year 2012. It eventually made it in her album Yellow Ranger released in 2014. The other viral hit songs included Queef song and the winking NYC Bitche$ hometown tour. The track also appeared as part of Awkwafina's NYC Travel Guide, which was published in the year 2015. After she established herself as a singer and author She decided to take on the roles of actor. She has appeared in films like Neighbors 2, Storks and Bad Rap. Her breakthrough came in 2018 with a few notable films like Dude Ocean's 8 and Crazy Rich Asians. The EP was released in June.
